Discover the Secret of Prosperity: Conquer Organizational Indifference With SharedKnowledge
THE FIRST ARTICLE IN A SERIES OF FOUR!
Everyday we hear phrases like, “That’s not my job,” “I can’t help you,” “That’s just how we do it around here” and yet we ignore these warning signs. These are signs that something is terribly wrong. These are the signs of organizational indifference.
Organizational Indifference occurs when your employees don’t care about the organization’s vision. Instead of looking for ways to help the organization grow and thrive they do just enough to hang on to their jobs. Unfortunately, this problem affects all organizations- regardless of size or type of government.
Overcoming this indifference results in increased funding, decreased costs, improved productivity and reduced employee turnover. Creating an environment of SharedKnowledge — where every person looks for opportunities to seize for the organization — makes growth come alive!
Where does your organization fall on the indifference scale? You can find your level of indifference by asking your employees on how well they perform the following activities:
- Communicate the vision to others
- Know what role they play in the success of the organization
- Work in an accountability process that is empowering
- Know when they have the authority to take action on behalf of the organization- and do it!
